Just like cars, electric scooters vary in price depending on their size, specs and condition. Generally speaking, they can be priced as low as $1400 and range up to $8000, with most people spending between $3000-$6000.
How much should I spend on my scooter?
How much you decide to spend on your scooter will ultimately be determined by what you need.
Ask yourself:
- How often will I use my scooter?
- What kinds of surfaces will I be travelling on
- Do I need to take my scooter in the car or on a plane?
- Will I be using public transport?
If you need something light, portable, and you don’t need to drive on rough terrain or steep hills, you can expect to pay between $2000 and $6000 for a small compact scooter, depending on what you require.
If you need something with plenty of pulling power for steep hills, higher speed, or payload capacity, you’ll pay between $4500 and $8000, depending on your requirements.

There may be additional costs when buying a mobility scooter if you choose to purchase insurance or accessories. Most Scooters Australia stores can help to arrange comprehensive insurance for your mobility scooter through Blue Badge Insurance Australia.
