Why buy an ActiveCare Pilot scooter?

The Pilot range of aged care scooters are made by Lerado, one of the largest makers of children’s strollers and associated products in the world. They know how to make quality mobility products. They are based in Taiwan and have factories in both Taiwan and China. All their quality control and R&D is based in Taiwan – the quality “capital” of the scooter world.

The Pilots are a strong, powerful medium size scooter at the smaller end of the scale for this class of scooter. The motor and electronics deliver a strong torque output, making the scooter ideal for hilly areas where “grunt” is required: with a 90 amp electronic controller, they beat most scooters in their class for sheer current delivery to the motor. A big controller is a little like having a turbo charger on a petrol engine – it delivers more fuel.

This means that the scooters are ideal for:

  • Storage in smaller areas, and greater manoeuvrability,
  • Small to medium sized people wanting a robust outdoor scooter,
  • Extra power in hilly areas.

The controls are easy to use and the scooter is easy to service. The seat is fully adjustable and comfortably padded.

Service and Repairs – in every state!
With Scooters Australia, you have access to our technicians in every state capital and in many regional areas. When you purchase from us we guarantee to repair the product and provide continuing service in every mainland capital. Because we have stores in each Capital City and in many regional areas, you can be assured that we will be able to look after you in the state where you live. There is no need to return the goods to a single warehouse location. This guarantee includes warranty repairs.

Conditions of sale:
Once we have received payment, your mobility scooter will be delivered in a heavy duty cardboard box, fully assembled, normally within a week, depending on where you are and the freight company’s schedule. You will need to be able to take delivery of the box (80-90 kgs) and cut the box up with a sharp blade. You will need to lift the seat off the scooter (10-15 kgs) and connect two plugs together to activate the batteries and then replace the seat. No other assembly is required.

Your scooter comes with a comprehensive Owner’s Manual that explains the operation of the scooter. But if you need further help you can email or phone us and we will contact you for further assistance. We also include a safe riding instruction booklet that teaches you how to ride your scooter safely and avoid dangerous obstacles and practices.

What your payment covers:

  • One complete scooter with batteries and charger
  • 12 month’s warranty on all parts excluding batteries, repairable at your nearest store.
  • 6 month’s warranty on batteries

 What your payment doesn’t cover:

  • Freight – you must pick up the scooter in Melbourne, or pay for delivery.
  • Freight insurance – add $75 per delivery for insurance if you want this option.
  • Call out fee for warranty repairs if you do not return the scooter to a Scooters Australia store.
  • More than 6 months warranty on the batteries
  • Training in the use of the scooter, apart from the information in the Owner’s Manual and the Safe Riding Booklet.
